Hippo Health's ground breaking Scratches / Greasy Heel / Mud Fever & Rain Scald formulation heals from the inside out. No need to touch the legs, scrape off scabs or apply bandages and creams. Simply dose twice daily on a treat (horses love the sweet taste) and wait while the remedy does its work. Once healing is complete, the scabs fall off by themselves to reveal clear, healthy skin underneath. Once healed, you only need to dose at weekends to maintain.

How does it work? Our formulation supports the natural immune response of the horse (or livestock) to conditions caused by Dermatophilus congolensis bacteria i.e. scratches / mud fever / greasy heel / mud rash and rain scald / rain rot. By building up the immune system, you not only overcome the condition but you are left with a horse that has no ill effects from the treatment.

Made in New Zealand. 100% Natural and Non-toxic. Homeopathic Preparation.

Contains equal parts of: Graphites, Natrum muriaticum, Petrolatum - note this is in non-toxic homeopathic form, Phytolacca, Staphisagria, Sulphur
Base: Vegetable glycerine & purified water

Pump Bottles
A dose consists of 2 pumps of remedy, twice a day, onto the tongue, gums or lips.
Can also be given on a piece of food. Most horses love the sweet taste but if your horse is nervous about being dosed, you can put the dose on your finger and dab it on their lips or gums. They do not need to swallow the dose, it just has to come into contact with their tongue or gums.
Dose twice a day until symptoms are gone, then reduce dosing to once a week to maintain.

Jerry Cans
Water troughs – tip one capful (25ml) or 1 pump (25ml) into the water trough every second day.
Feed – tip ½ capful (12ml), or ½ pump (12ml), on to feed twice daily.
Once symptoms are gone, reduce dosing to once a week to maintain.

Remedies are dispensed either in a 90ml food grade aluminium bottle with a hygienic serum pump lid with over-cap or in food grade plastic jerry cans, sized 1 litre, 2 litres and 5 litres  The 5 litre jerry cans come with a free dispensing pump. The pump can also be bought separately for the smaller jerry cans.

90ml bottle = 230 doses

1 litre jerry can = 80 days continuous cover via water troughs (dosing every second day) or 40 days dosing on feed (twice daily). *Maintenance dosing is once a week so product will last a lot longer.

2 litre jerry can = 160 days continuous cover via water troughs (dosing every second day) or 80 days dosing on feed (twice daily). *Maintenance dosing is once a week so product will last a lot longer.

5 litre jerry can = 400 days continuous cover via water troughs (dosing every second day) or 200 days dosing on feed (twice daily). *Maintenance dosing is once a week so product will last a lot longer.

This remedy can be continued long term. However reducing the frequency of dose when there are no symptoms present ensures the horse/livestock avoid desensitising to the remedy.
